Shadow of Hong Kong

Willia Ng Tsz Wai

Shadow of Hong Kong is a video installation that uses one projector with the aim of portraying the elimination of culturally significant sights in Hong Kong. In an attempt to raise awareness of the local culture, this project is a socially related installation that allows people to pay close attention to the maintenance of culture and cultural heritage.

Inspired by Team lab’s interactive digital projection artworks, through the projection of flowers, colours and sceneries, audiences will be enabled to walk in front of the projection and merge with the video. This project reduces the size of the projection by only projecting elements from one angle with one projector. It also projects actual recordings and illustrations, as well as the use of sounds, to raise the plausibility for the whole set.
