Abstract Anti-Photography

Haein Lee

Abstract photography can’t be explained in a single definition. It can be seen as an elusive subject, yet it is an art form. The photographed items are objects we use or see in our daily lives. If you see this abstract work, you would be like: ‘Oh, it’s cool. But what IS it?’ That’s the key purpose of my project. People will take time to find meaning in the photos when they look on them but there is no meaning. You just FEEL it and take it in the way you want.

This work is influenced by me. I was bored with myself thinking and trying to fit the project with a meaningful purpose. So I switched from photography to ‘anti-photography’ - why don’t I just take photos and make them my own art? They represent myself, you, us.
