2007

As 34-year-old Cameron mourns the loss of a close childhood guardian, he discovers an old telephone in mysterious circumstances and attempts to return it to its owner – in doing so, he unearths its unique ability to contact people in the past.

The atmosphere generated in the film highlights a core theme of loss, and is aesthetically inspired by the work of David Lowery, Denis Villeneuve and David Fincher, with regards to how its ‘man on a mission’ narrative has been assembled within the protagonist’s social boundaries and associated cinematic tensions. 2007 explores the capacity to produce ‘high-concept’ drama on a low budget.
